You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you decide to take part, it is important that you take time to read the following information carefully so that you understand why the research is being conducted and what it will involve. Take time to decide if you would like to take part or not. If you have any questions about the following information or the study in general, please do not hesitate to ask.

What is the purpose of the study?

The study aims to investigate if unpredictability in childhood, attachment styles, and school type influence one’s personality traits. More information will be provided at the end of the study. Your participation will involve completing an online questionnaire about some personality traits, your childhood, and attachment styles in addition to some demographic information. In total, this should take you approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Why have I been chosen?

You have responded to an advertisement about the research. You can only take part in this study if you either attended a state school or a private school and are 18 or over. Your participation in this study will involve answering a questionnaire. There will be a few demographic questions before the main questionnaire.

Do I have to take part?

You are not required to accept this invitation. I am happy to answer any questions regarding the study. Contact information is provided at the beginning of this Information Form. You can withdraw from this study at any point without stating a reason by closing the browser window.

Will my taking part in this study be kept confidential?

The data that you provide to us during this study will be kept confidential; it will be anonymous and stored on a GDPR compliant server.

What will happen to the results of the research study?

The data will be used as part of a MSc dissertation project. The analysis will be conducted using R, and the results will be presented in the dissertation.
