Thank you very much for participating in this study!

In this project, we are exploring the factors that contribute to your perception of your ability to confidently make career decisions and complete academic tasks.

You completed three questionnaires as part of this study:

The WLEIS scale assessed your emotional intelligence. The questionnaire measured four dimensions: self-emotional appraisal (your ability to understand your own emotions); others’ emotional appraisal (your ability to perceive and understand other people’s emotions and feelings); regulation of emotion (your ability to regulate your own emotions); use of emotion (your ability to utilise your emotions for constructive activities).

The CDMSE-SF scale measures your belief in your ability to successfully complete the tasks required to make career decisions. The questionnaire examines behaviours such as; accurate self-appraisal, gathering occupational information, goal selection, making plans for the future and problem solving.

The MSLQ questionnaire assessed your learning self-efficacy which refers to your perception of your abilities when it comes to carrying out academic tasks. This assesses both your judgments about your ability to accomplish a task as well as your confidence in your skills to perform that task.

You were also asked to disclose your gender and whether you are studying your course fully online or whether you are following an in-person/online blended programme, whereby you attend some classes on campus. Previous research suggests that these factors may impact feelings of self-efficacy in an academic and professional setting.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the experimenter, Suzie Green (2175200g@student.gla.ac.uk).

Once again thank you very much for your participation.
