This study investigates a possible relationship between sleep quality, social media use and social anxiety.

How was this tested? In this study, you were asked to complete questionnaires measuring your sleep quality, nighttime social media habits and any levels of social anxiety.

Hypotheses:

We expect that higher scores on the Sleep Condition Indicator will predict lower iNOD and Social Interaction Anxiety scale scores.

Why is this important to study?

With the current pandemic, the nature of social interaction has hugely changed. It’s important to investigate the impact on psychological well-being, especially within young people. Not much is known about the impact of social media on social related anxiety, and how quality of sleep interacts with this association hence why we are studying this.
